Jay Archer Floral Design

This is a sponsored post. It may be paid for but the words are our own. Our integrity is, of course, everything. If we didn’t believe in their product/service then this post wouldn’t be on this wedding blog and we’d be a little bit poorer. Enjoy.

Today I get to introduce you to a new sponsor. The delectable Jay Archer Floral Design. I love flowers but they can be so uninspiring. A posy of roses or a spray of lillies are just flowers. You need someone with flair and an eye for structure. To use different textures and ideas and scents. Remember perhaps the most evocative memory is smell and when coupled with beauty what could be better?

Just look at these arrangements from Jay and you’ll see what I mean.

How amazing – “just” a little trunk in the corner!

I love the way she uses these Fritillaries as a decoration with the ribbon.

So “simple” (probably not!) but it conjures up the idea the bride wandered through a meadow that morning and picked the flowers herself. I love.

And now I want a heart garland in my home at all times! It must smell amazing!

I asked Jay to talk about herself and flowers and well you can just feel the passion oozing out!

” Flowers. Love them. Always have, always will. Weddings. Love them too. The best part of my work, next to said flowrers, is meeting fab couples, learning what makes them tick and working together to design a scheme completely inspired by them. Whether their shared passions are travelling, cooking or knitting I tie in details that reflect this. I grow all my own herbs from seed including rosemary, chamomile, lemon balm, sage and mint as well as decorative grasses, sweet peas and sunflowers. I like to use unusual bits and bobs including fruit, vegetables, plants, seedheads and none ‘floral’ flowers in paper, wood and fabric- and I enjoy a good forage in the hedgerows! I try my best to be green too by composting all of my flower and garden waste and use only organic compost for my seeds and beds. Our growing space is modest so anything we cannot grow in beds or containers we source from local wholesalers who supply British and internationally grown produce of the very best quality- you will always know where your flowers have come from whether it be Britain or abroad.”

Jay would love to hear from you, so please get in touch. Anyone who contacts her and quotes ’Far From The Wedding Crowd’ and subsequently books her, will recieve 20 free fresh petal confetti cones, coordinated to your day. Oh yes. We like Jay Archer Floral Design!

Jay covers Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, London and West Sussex and would love to be your wedding day florist. This wedding blog really hopes you’ll be one of Jay’s brides too!
