It’s almost lunchtime so I think this picture is safe. We served bacon sandwiches at midnight on our wedding night. They weren’t the best! Although my deliciously polite guests tell me otherwise! Admittedly after 3 hours of ceilidh-ing (approx 2 hours more than we expected) I think people were really quite hungry.
What I wish I’d done was served cheese toasties.
It would have been particularly fitting. I’m sure Bean’s friends have wonderful memories of the toastie bar in their college. Oh twas a place of dirty beauty.

If you had to choose a midnight snack, what would it be?

we had a buffet of petit fours / macaroons etc served with coffee around midnight – fitted in well with the french chateau etc
have to say though, in England I reckon you can’t beat a hot portion of chips – especially freshly made and served in mini paper cones (perhaps in custom made “newspaper” with a headline about the couple getting married)
mmm
Oh yummers! Your wedding sounds like heaven!
Cute idea about the chips! Although good chips are hard to find!
Crepes with nutella, crepes with nutella. Wait, did i mention the crepes? with the NUTELLA?!
When I lived in Milan one of my revelations was the discovery of the late night / wee small hours crepe shop. SO good. Gamechanger, really.
We’ve a crepe cart planned for after the ceilidh fun at our wedding – which I shamelessly admit is primarily for my benefit.
Crepes. Umm where’s my invite?! Great idea. Love it.
Last year I attended a wedding at which cheesy pasta and churros (a Mexican dessert of fried dough stick covered in cinnamon and sugar) were served at the end of the night. We guests were quite thrilled, even though I’ve had better cheesy pasta and churros elsewhere. I really do think people are just grateful for the offer of MORE FOOD.
