Last night I was lucky enough to be invited by the lovely ladies at Maids to Measure to a little party at the Lanesborough Hotel to launch their new men’s accessories range, The Maidsmen.
I was, to be honest, a little worried about The Maidsmen. My initial research revealed very little as their website hasn’t launched yet and as a concept it’s such an easy thing to half arse by just making a selection of cheaply made ties and hankies in some shiny fabrics. Still, I thought, they’ve invited us to their party so I should try to be nice and it’s from the people at Maids to Measure who are, of course, wonderful so how bad can it really be? Well, I don’t know what I was worrying about.
I was genuinely very impressed. What I saw really stands up on its own merits, leave alone as a range made to match their bridesmaids dresses. It’s classy, good quality and it’s all made in the UK to boot.
What you see here is basically everything I saw, but it’s more than enough to get me excited and I’ll certainly try to have a look into them in more detail as more information comes out.
Also there were of course some of Maids to Measure’s wonderful dresses and shoes by Freya Rose.
Finally, the Lanesborough is a lovely venue, if you are getting married or planning an event and your main concern is the quality of the nibbles, then I can only recommend them. Little bits of goats cheese covered in pistachio nuts on little wafer things, scallops wrapped in bacon with hollandaise sauce and tiny little lemon cupcakes from the lovely people at Cake Maison.

Good luck to the Maids with this latest venture! I’m sure they have the vision, the creativity, the belief and the determination to make this work.
Ohhhhhh, I want those shoes….
Just a quick apology for the quality of the pictures. I only had my phone, and while the light level was nice for a soiree it wasn’t quite enough to be taking photos by.
