William Clarke Flowers – Flower School Fun

A few weeks (well many weeks) ago I was lucky enough to pop to William Clarke Flowers thanks to the lovely Propose PR for a rather lovely few hours of floral fun! Indeed, you know I can take an amazing picture and am as good as any wedding photographer (!) and now I can also call myself a fabulous florist! I certainly can spiral with the best of them! I joined Wedding Magazine and Sam of A Little London Wedding that morning.

William and his team are now offering a chance for brides to come and play with flowers. You may have an idea of the flowers you like but I know a number of us can be befuddled by the sheer choice out there. So you can now have a fabulous hen morning with fizz and nibbles before you wander on to dinner and dancing.

Whilst the flowers and pinkness may have not quite been to my taste*, the morning was wonderful. You can decide on the type of flowers in advance and make it truly personal! (Despite, attending a very good friend’s surprise birthday party the night before – I was very happy things kicked off at 11am!)

William, Helen and Brian are just hilarious. They started by showing us a few of their “pièce de résistance” displays. Hello hydrangea love. Oh to have all the pennies for personal arrangements in my home everyday!

Perhaps the most difficult part is, that you realise you are concentrating so hard on making your pretties look good that you stop talking and focus entirely on the flowers. Who knew that bloggers could actually stop talking?! So in between sips of bubbly you really are trying to work hard. Perhaps not the best idea to organise this for the mornign after the night before!

Those brownies (made with William’s fair hands) were heavenly! It really is a laugh a minute as the team look at your paultry efforts and help you create something a little exciting. Indeed learning to make a hand-tied bouquet is really quite a little life skill. Remember ladies twist and place. It’s all about movement!

Check out the autopsy green aprons and my looks of intense concentration! Crumbs I certainly know how to look gormless. I recall the delicious days of anonymity and if you think these images of me are bad, you should have seen the ones I deleted. I guess I’m not afraid of looking a little hideous on my blog anymore. This be a huge step for me!

Wedding Magazine, Sam of A Little London Wedding and Nicola of Propose PR with their creations! Aren’t they cute!

See there was actually some sun this summer. I wouldn’t have believed it, if I hadn’t been sent these images!

Honestly, I think it would be a great hen activity.  Go play with some flowers. It’s ot the cheapeast activity, from £120, but if you have the pennies it really is a lovely morning and you get to take home your delicious creations. I left to go to an engagement party and the bride to be was rather happy with her little present, made with my fair hands!

*I’m sorry gerbera lovers. I just cannot love them. I wasn’t jealous at all that other girls got to play with peonies! Oh no!
