Sometimes we get sent some lovely fun things. Today I get to talk about The Gobstopper! The sweetest treat?!

I was rather excited to receive my sweet kilner jar full of sweeties although actually deciding which sweets to choose was rather taxing. From aniseed balls to alphabet letters, a finger of fudge to the bizarrely named Zout Salt Diamond. Everyone is catered for. The retro sweets are all there!

Ooo time for some Click and Mix!

Bean and I finally decided upon floral gums, jelly buttons and Ploom mega sours. Oh what a combination. The jar we received was packed to the gills with sweeties!

1. Floral gums – weird but good

2. Jelly buttons – I could eat these all day long – the best part of Liquorice Allsorts.

3. Ploom mega sours – oh lordy, the sourest sweet I have ever tasted. Bean didn’t believe me until he tried one, he said it was more sour that neat citric acid. Oh they are amazing!

I love introducing you to people who are incredibly passionate and love what they do and today I get to do that! The lovely Brides of Winchester (which sweetly abbreviates to BOW!) was set up in 2010  when Laura Ward, found when looking for a dress for her own wedding and found a there was nowhere fabulous in the Hampshire area to find one’s wedding dress.

I find that sometimes music is the last on the list for couples when planning a wedding. I think we thought it would all just happen so it’s always good to get a helping hand.

It’s great to think out of the box when you think about your wedding entertainment.  It’s great if you just want a string quartet but you are allowed to have something a little different. I promise!

Why not have a close vocal harmony group? I would have loved to have had a barbershop quartet belting out 90s hits. Or perhaps a sea shanty band which gets a little lairy? It’s your wedding, don’t think there are rules (save not being related and what not!) you can do anything you want.

You can walk down the aisle to theme of Murder, She Wrote played on the harp if you want. (I may have done that!) Enjoy yourself. This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity to throw caution to the wind!

So let me introduce you to the Alive Network the UK’s largest live music and live entertainment booking service.

“Over the past 13 years we have been developing our roster of the UK’s very finest live bands to hiremusiciansDJsentertainersand event suppliers so you can be sure your event will be truly amazing!

Music and entertainment are one of our nation’s greatest cultural achievements yet earning a living as a professional artist can be a real struggle. At Alive Network, we believe our artists deserve better, and by helping to improve the quality of life for them we can improve the quality of live entertainment available to you.

Alive Network was the first company to embrace new technology and enable all our artists to reach a wider audience via the internet. We were the first company to put all of the information our customers needed online with detailed artist profiles, online quoting, availability checking, audio downloads & comprehensive search facilities. We are still the only company to offer all of these facilities.

Alive Network’s commitment to improving our industry and providing employment has enabled us to develop an unparalleled relationship with the live bands and artists we represent. This relationship ensures reliability and improved service across the board, a factor you can’t afford to be without when planning an important event.”

Seriously, who wouldn’t want to take to the dance floor when this starts playing!

Today I get to introduce a brand that we’ve all heard of but perhaps never considered the brand, Berketex Bride.

We don’t all have thousands to spend on a wedding dress. (Oh if we could, perhaps we would?).

So it’s always good to find a brand which features affordable dresses for all. Fabulous dresses from a specialist in bridal wear. Over 50 years of experience certainly doesn’t count for nothing!

I guess I should show you some dresses then!

Are you after a meringue-esque confection? Oh the layers of tulle that Barcelona has to offer. There be fun hidden in those layers.

A hello from the Rainbow Club

This is a sponsored post. It may be paid for but the words are our own. Our integrity is, of course, everything. If we didn’t believe in their product/service then this post wouldn’t be on this wedding blog and we’d be a little bit poorer. Enjoy.

Now we’ve all heard about the Rainbow Club but how many of us have taken the time to spy their wares. Fabulous vintage inspired weddings shoes for all you vintage mavens but also something a little more contemporary for those with a taste for modern fashion. Wedding shoes for fabulous brides, indeed!

Time for me to introduce you to a few of the pretties for you or your delightful bridesmaids! I love that they come in a variety of heel height. I might have started out my wedding day in 5 inch heels but were certainly not what I finished in!

Perhaps I should start with my standout favourite. They are a little decadent! Covered in lace and with beautiful crystal and pearl details on the t-bar. These are certainly shoes you will dance the night away in! Perfect for a shorter dress when you really want to show off your shoes!

Daisy Hill

Oh hello Miss Alice, the vintage chic sweetness to melt your heart. Oh and the joy is you can choose the type of ribbons with which to tie your bow! Are you a velvet or organza lady?

Miss Alice

The dainty Chloe is perfect for those who would prefer a lower heel but would also like to show a little splash of colour on their toes. Chic, no?!

Chloe

A Fairytale indeed. Delightfully decadent with a rose on your toes? Too pretty!

Fairytale

I love a pointy toe but they often seem a little severe in wedding attire. However with the sweet addition of pretty lace they work beautifully.

Georgie Girl

Perhaps the ones for your maids, perfect for dyeing to any colour and  flash of sparkle on the toe!

Kerrie

Pearl Drift is a definite keeper, I adore the ruffles on the heel. Just so elegant. Combined with the dainty details a rather special shoe.

Pearl Drift

And finally for the grown up ladies something a little special. The embroidered tulle is finished off with sumptuous velvet decadence. How sweet would these be peeking out from under your dress!

Perla Rosa

Oh and don’t forget the little ones.

A little heel and smattering of diamante to make a little lady feel special with the Verity shoes.

For the very little ones the Abigail is too sweet.

You might not get that elusive red flash as you walk down the aisle but with a few more pennies to spend on accessories you might get very lucky! Have you seen their sweet little veils? And don’t forget about their special colour matching service.

Are you a Rainbow Club bride?
